Terms and Conditions
Hey! We’re glad you’re here. We’ve been hard at work trying to make a minimalist, single-feature web app for people like you. We get it, you might be apprehensive – but we want to make sure you know what to expect with AwayMe. Please take a read of these terms and conditions – and if you have any questions, please let us know.
Who is AwayMe.cc?
AwayMe has been created and is offered by the folks at CC Marketing Group.
1. Introduction
Welcome to AwayMe. By using our software, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before using the software.
2. User Agreement
By using this software, you agree that you are at least 18 years old or have obtained consent from a parent or guardian. You agree to use the software only for its intended purpose of filling your calendar with mock events as placeholders.
3. Account and Authentication
To use AwayMe, you must authenticate using a third-party service such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar via OAuth. We do not require the creation of a separate account beyond this authentication.
4. Use of the Software
AwayMe randomly fills your calendar with mock events to act as placeholders. These events are intended to block out times on your calendar to prevent others from booking appointments during those times. Users are responsible for managing these mock events, including deletion if no longer needed.
5. Data Handling and Privacy
We log your email address and name for authentication and operational purposes. However, we do not store any details of your existing calendar events. All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy [link to Privacy Policy].
6. Liability and Disclaimers
AwayMe is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of the software. AwayMe shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of the software, including, but not limited to, missed appointments or scheduling conflicts caused by mock events. Users are responsible for verifying their calendar schedules and ensuring that real appointments are not impacted by the mock events.
7. Third-Party Services
This software uses third-party APIs, including Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar, to function. By using AwayMe, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions of these third-party services. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of these services.
8. Termination of Service
You may discontinue using AwayMe at any time by revoking the software’s access to your calendar through the respective OAuth service. The software does not currently provide a mass deletion feature, so you must delete mock events individually if no longer needed.
9. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on our website or within the software. Continued use of the software after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
